when i kill my rats for freezing, i put them in a pillow case. tie a not at one end. swing it over head then down to hard surface. guaranteed dead, so if needed for a pre-killed but usually go into a zip lock bag, then the air gets suctioned out and then stored.
have one of those air remover things.
