Arms to Iran LOL. I fell out of my chair laughing back when I was watching all the Oliver North stuff on TV and he stated that the stuff they sold them was all outdated and a lot of it probably wouldn't work anyway. The Iranians were furious when it got back to them what he said LOL
Yeah Harding ...and then Coolidge ...then Hoover. Seriously, that's 3 pretty rotten apples in a row leading into the depression. What chance did this country have? Hoover, much like Carter wasn't a bad man...just the wrong man for the job at the time with no clue as to what radical changes would pull us out of the huge mess we were in.
Back in the Lincoln days, democrat and republican didn't really mean the same thing it does now. What the parties stand for has been redefined many times since those days. I can't imagine any president actually wanting a "civil war"...the epitome of oxymoron.
