RE: nile monitor

I have a 4 1/2 Nile that I've had since it was a baby. It's four or five years old (I can't remember) and actually pretty calm. It used to be extremely aggressive and would charge me when I tried to clean it's enclosure. Now that it's older, it's very used to me. It's laid back and will even tolerate a little petting. I've never been bitten, but I've been tail whipped a couple of times. But the feeding response is unbelievable! I feed it frozen/thawed rodents because it's a little too crazy with live. It runs all over chasing the rodents and slams them up against the sides of the enclosure.
