Glider Frogs?
Does anyone know about golden gliders frogs? I need to make a set up to breed them and would love some advice.

I don't know much about breeding at all, but I tried looking up some info online. Since glider frogs in general don't have much info out there, I could not find too much. I did; however, find this posted:
"Burt (sic.) Langerwerf, of Agama International in Alabama, has succeeded in breeding this [Chinese gliding tree frogs] species in outdoor cages and reported his results in detail in Reptiles, September, 1995, must reading for anyone trying to keep the species."
I don't know if there would be any way to get to that issue, lol, but I thought I would throw it out there. :dontknow:

Hey Cas~ I was kinda curious why you were wanting to breed them? 2 scientific names your frog may be classified as ~ cause some people classify golden tree frogs (polypedates leucomystax) from asia in the same group as golden gliders (Rhacophorus leucomystax) but golden tree frogs dont glide to my knowledge(I could be wrong) so try looking up the 2nd one. Also maybe just try calling a breeder and ask their advice.

My friend picked up a trio at the reptile expo and the breeder there said that they were golden glider frogs? My friend wants me to breed them for his store. Basically I am the only one who does amphibians so I was "volunteered" for the project. Google imaged both species and it was not a lot of help, but mine do not have any webbing in between the digits, so I might venture a guess that they are really the tree frogs.

That should be very exciting Cas! When you really research this you might find that sometimes they can be wrongly identified or even just sold as something they are not! Is it possible to post a pic? I even have a book that stated that golden tree frogs, golden foam nest frogs, golden flying/gliding frogs and asian tree frogs are commonly sold as P. leucomastyx so it may be you might have realized something here!
