Southern Black Widow variations
I have two Black Widows and the red pattern on one is like a motley corn pattern while one has the classic hourglass such cool animals.

Here they are everywhere..........when I was a kid.......I use to catch them and keep them........they are really neat.
The funnest thing was to get an egg sack and keep it in a Mayo jar and let them all hatch out.

I think the ones in my yard were killed when they sprayed the front of the house with bug killer.
I don't keep any as pets anymore........I do however.........keep a cool T.

I played with spiders and constantly got bit when I was a kid, so it's a good thing there weren't any of those where I grew up.
Something venomous nailed me once though, I ended up having to get a series of shots for it. I don't know what it was though.

No widows up here that I know of, but we have a truck load of brown recluses -.-
Found a dozen or so stacking wood the other day. It had been piled there for several months, so ya... infestation.

After seeing what can happen after a spider bite from something like a Widow or recluse... I think I'll never go near one.
