Bearded Dragon Info.
SO GUYS, I've recently fallen in love with Bearded Dragons. I never thought I would cause SOOO many people have Bearded Dragons and they're SO common but here I am (I think I went through the same situation with Leopard Geckos :P) ANYHOW, I'd like to verify some info. on them with you guys cause well... that's what I like doing. I like feeling like I've learned something. SO HERE'S IT.
Cage Size:
15 gallon for hatchling.
And for one adult, I'd say something that is along the lines of 3-4 ft long, 2-3 ft wide and 2 ft tall. Would that work for say, two adults (Male and Female)? Can two females be housed together?
Lighting:
A UVB 5.0 light placed about 20-30 cm from the dragon's basking spot. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Heating:
I'm thinking CHE for all heat all day and night. What do you guys use for heat?
Substrate:
Paper towel for hatchling and I was thinking of using Ceramic or slate tiles for adult.
Food and Water:
Offer a shallow dish of water, as well as a small shallow dish of chopped greens.
Greens include: Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, Kale, Dandelion Greens.
Offer as many Small crickets as the dragon will eat. Crickets are dusted every other day with Rep-cal with D3 and no phosphorous (Correct, no?)
When older, Mealworms will be added to the diet.
All this info was from all that I've learned from my research over an abundant amount of time. Please answer my questions and please add any additional information.
Thank you.

Congratulations!
In answer to your question, yes you can house 2 females together. I have one male & 2 females in a 4'x'4x18" with sand as substrate, and a 32" driftwood log for climbing.
There are many folks that advise against sand (natural OR calci) due to problems with impaction...but I tried mine out on reptile carpet and the were miserable. Once I gave them sand, and they could dig, they were very happy.
I use a UTH for mine, and they spend a good amount of time bellied down on it. Belly heat aids in digestion.

they really need the over head heat, i have heard temps as high 110 in the basking area for adults. and ambient temps of 95-100.
che will not work for them. maybe for night time heat but def not day time heat.
they need a special uva-uvb bulb its 69.00 dollar bulb that produces a special vitamin d. you cant just plug in a bulb and call it good with them, without out that natural vitamin from the light the will get lethargic and die. they also need a bulb for the full length of the cage for the uva.
they have a lot of special needs
the children's play sand works great although i recommend sifting what you are going to put in the cage first to get the bigger pieces out. mine loved to burrow in the sand. i checked his feces often and never found sound inside the feces so he wasn't ingesting.
but if you are going to use sand every now and then you need to break the feces up and make sure he or she isn't going on a sand diet.
diet sounds ok.
