Jad is afraid of my camera. I have to shoot any photos of him from across the room and use zoom. If I get close to him with it, he freaks out and runs to the back side of his cage. I hide the camera and he comes back up top...If I again point it at him, he screams and flies off. Posha...could care less. Nothing phases her. I have to trim her beak fairly often. Usually I can just get away with using nail trimmers but now and then I have to use a dremel. I put my finger in her beak to hold her tongue down and away from whatever tool I'm using on her...can you imagine putting your finger in most parrot's beaks and then trimming them with a dremel? She just lays there and has never bitten down on me. She loves to have her pin feathers preened too.. She stretches out for me and will even sometimes turn so that I'm getting the ones that are bugging her lol. She's a total sweetheart. It's going to kill me when she dies.

This is because Jad is possessed by evil and is afraid that if you photograph him, it will steal his soul so you can send him back to the underworld…
He does OK with me. I can get him to not bite me EVERY time now.

Steal his soul? Not even Satan would want this bird's soul.

You all have such awesome birdies! I have a gold capped conure that seriously runs my life! lol When I bought him he had his wings clipped rather severely, so my boyfriend and I are teaching him that he can, in fact, fly now that his flight feathers have grown in again.
It is pretty awesome to see him gain the confidence that he did not have before. It results in less screaming out of frustration and more random visits from him in the kitchen when I am doing the dishes!
He has free range of my apartment and random hanging perches and play gyms everywhere. He is pretty freakin' spoiled and thinks he owns the place. All three of the cats that live here are terrified of him (hahaha).
He used to be a one person bird, but in the past 6 months he has taken to making kissing noises at anyone he has seen more than once, and if he really likes you he will start saying "yeah, yeah" and nodding, which is what my boyfriend taught him to do when he gets treats. Lately, he has also taken to imitating cat meows which tweaks me out pretty severely. He is pretty ridiculous, but I love him anyway.
Sorry for the long entry. I really heart his face. I will post pics when I get my computer back.
