I knew it!!!!
I've been thinking this for about a year now and never got around to confirming it. Well I decided to and found out Rayne is a BOY! I just knew it too. I never really payed much attention to the "length of the tail method" until about a year ago. I figured, yeah she's has a big tail but such tiny tiny spurs and is a pretty good size for her age, so I put it on the after burner. For the last year though I've been thinking about this method more and I was pretty sure that she was actually a male because I haven't seen a whole lot of growth. This got me looking at all my boas a little more closely. From there on out, everytime I'd take pics of Rayne, I'd see look at her tail and just think to myself that she looks like a boy. I dug out the probes and got a 14 subcaudals on her....ahem....Him. A little shocked, but I've suspected it for a little over a year now.
.
How could I have been so naive?

Someone needs to tell these snakes it's not ok to change genders midway! You gotta stick with what you get!

That is why I probe right away. If I go to pick up the snake I bring my probes and some KY and probe right in front of the seller. Every since I bought Herc as a girl I do it this way now.
Now I guess you can let him grow his mustache and goatee in

Well when sh....HE (that's going to take some time lol) was younger, his tail actually looked "female". (or at least to me)

.
Well whatever the case, still doesn't change how I feel. Still very glad to own this one.

Adrian told me Sapphire might be a male, judging from the long tail. Who knows? I'll bet lots of people have no clue as to their snake's gender.

It's probably why some attempted breedings are unfruitful. 2 males or 2 females on a date can't make baby snakes.
