Spurs!
Here it is, Saturday night, and I'm sitting around and spying on my snakes.
Mr. Molotov has been all over Oolong for exactly one week now. I caught him bustin' out the spurs:
Close up no flash:
Wider shot with flash, Oolong looks quite impressed by those mighty spurs:
Every single time I hear the word "spurs" I think of the part in Pulp Fiction where Harvey Keitel says "What about you, Lash Laroo? Do you think you can keep your spurs from jingling and jangling?"
Just for fun, here are some bonus wrapping shots from earlier this week. (Excuse the crazy disarray of newspapers and dirty plexiglass):
You can't keep him off of her! I caught him taking a water break on Wednesday, but other than that, he's been on her constantly. I REALLY hope this takes...

Oh man, talk about needing willpower! It's about everything I can do NOT to hover. I REALLY want to open the cage to get better pics, but I've been good so far... Of course, I'm a wreck, but as long as they're still going at it uninterrupted, I figure I'm ahead of the game, lol!

I'm wishing you good luck. I hope you will have a large litter. This late in the season still gives me hope for my boas to mate. Hopefully they did while I was sleeping.
Have you been breeding boas for a while?

Thanks Danktat! I put them back together again like You've said. Hopefully something clicks in my males head that will spark some interest in the female. I'm trying to be patient like you told Allysen, but she's right it's so difficult.

Lol he really isn't! I think he's just overcompensating because we called him a girl for the past year.

I was really nervous about putting them together this late in the season, but Oolong must be putting off pheromones like mad because I swear Molotov is practically in a frenzy! And never count out the possibility that they're doing it when you're not looking, some males can be stealth-breeders!

Yeah, I think it's a tad late in the season for bci, but heck, I'm up near Seattle where it rains all the time anyway, so I think the barometric pressure is helping a bit.
Although it's weird, these two can't get enough of each other with no cooling and no adjusted light periods, while the Guyanas I introduced at the beginning of February (after a nice cooling period) aren't showing any interest in each other at all! :confused1:
