Apollo's Attitude
So..... Elizabeth bought this guy at the reptile show:
When we brought him home, he was very laid back, active & curious, but in a non-threatening way. The last few days, he's made me nervous, because he tracks my hand when I try to pick him up, and twitches his tail like an irritated cat. I this a feeding behaviour, or did we pick up a problem child?

Does seem to be anything out of the ordinary. Some boas don't care for their tail to be touched and they will twitch it. Great looking Suriname.

Great pickup! Any aggressive snakes I've ever owned have mellowed out with regular handling.

The only other suri I've had has been a complete angel , so I don't really have anything to compare him to.
The guy who had Apollo didn't know alot about him, since he was selling him for a friend. I have a feeling he's had some hard knocks, 'cause he has a few scars, including one on his nose that looks like a rodent bite.

Still a great pickup. Looks like the contrast in him and your other girl is enough to produce some stunners should you ever decided to pair them (hint hint)

I think that is her plan. She couldn't turn him down, even tho she dropped almost all the $$$ she had saved. I hope he's worth it.

thats an awsome little boa. I remember when you guys signed up on here and didnt have any snakes. You guys are establishing quite a collection.
Sometimes snakes are super calm when you buy em at an expo, cus they sit in a deli cup all day with no heat...it slows em down. After a day or so in a warm cage, they "thaw out" and get their regular attitude. He will settle with regular handling
