Im using a 1" layer of cocofiber now with 2" of aspen shreddings. the coconut kinda helps with humidity since i use aquariums.

im really pleased, except i havent seen my ball python for more then a second all day lol. he has a burrowing fetish that he couldnt satisfy till now i guess =/

Newspaper most of the time. I work at Luray zoo and we only use woodshavings for our display animals. I use newspapaer b/c I feel that the animal is more comfortable

When I kept snakes on a much larger scale years back newspaper was the only really feasiable way to go, financially and cleanliness wise. Even though I don't keep snakes on a large scale now, (less than 10 at any given time) I'm a diehard believer in newspaper. Clean, cheap and easy....
