Hungry girls...
Some feeding pics from tonight...
Stella--2003 50/50 Suriname het albino...this is the sister to my gravid female.
Gabby--2004 het albino
Mabel, the big girl--8 1/2' Columbian 66% het albino...she is a scary feeder...I really have to be ready to jump back when I open the cage door!

These three went through all those rats...
Most went to the big girl Mabel as I was out of the jumbo rats she usually gets...

The worst one I ever had was my 10' burmese...I even built a 'rabbit door' in the roof of her cage...she nearly popped up through it and got me a number of times...I've heard retics can be even faster than Burms...
watching a giant grab and eat certainly gives one an appreciation for the strength of these animals...

Yep, we have a separate feeding door for our retic. It allows just enough room for the rat to get in, and we are 3 feet from the door around the corner moving it with hemostats. I will get a pic of it.

we had an 18 foot berm and had a 'rabbit door' it helped but it was still scarry to feed him. |
