Ashley is shedding??? - Where Responsible Reptile Keepers Connect!

Ok so here is the situation. Ashley (the FLR Suriname I purchased from Ash Lopez a short time ago) had been with his Damico male before he was forced to sell her. She shed about three weeks before the purchase and hasn't eaten since a little while before that shed. When she got in on around the the 22nd of January she was placed with a male that I got from John Brady for a few days. He courted her a couple of times but she was on top of him more than he was on top of her.

I took him out and replaced him on Jan 28th with Hercules who copulated within 24 hours of placing him with her. He has been courting pretty regularly since then as well.

The thing is now she is in shed. I haven't really witnessed any real swelling but then again I don't know this snake well enough to notice any subtle changes as she is quite thick to begin with. He was still showing interest yesterday.

Since she is blueing up I am separating him so he can get in a meal and then will reintroduce after this shed.

If this is a POS in theory, there could be three differend "daddys" to any litter produced. What are you all's thoughts on the possibility this is POS?

My only thought is that I better see some babies in the not too distant future.

I have no idea if that is possible but in theory if there are multiple eggs and multiple sperm then it could happen. I suppose even in humans if you had fraternal twins they could have two daddies. Man that would complicate the legal system if it happened often. Or give Jerry Springer something new to throw out there! Good luck in your babymaking!

Dogs can be impregnated by multiple males but I do not know about a snake producing babies from multiple males.....hmmmm,very interesting!

How exciting! Jeez, if this is the POS and she's good to go, it'll definitely be an interesting litter! I read a story once about a guy who bred a female BCI to a hypo (or some other codom mutation, I forget what) and nothing happened, so he gave her the year off, and next season put her in with a motley (or some distinctly different codom mutation) and when she finally gave birth, there were both kinds of morphs in the litter.
