Iguana Genetic Traits
Does anyone know for sure what the co-dominant color traits are for iguanas? An example being A (Green or Orange ) green iguana x (red, El Salvadoran) green iguana? Would you get all green colored igs? Red igs? half and half? Het for red maybe? Does anyone know for sure? I've been all over the internet and cant find crap on it.

With iguanas being so disposable in the pet trade akin to and about on the same level as carnival gold fish, there's really no call for breeding them. You won't find your answers amongst anyone with breeding ethics at least not from experience.

The only genetic trait I know of in iguanas is albino. I agree with JS about the rest. There are so many unwanted iggys and so many w/c or farm bred that flood the market that all need homes, why breed? I would suspect (based on the color difference being locality based) that the resulting babies would be a mix of the parents, some showing more or less red (el savlador) than others. Just my humble $0.02
