I would like to see what it is that you use. I have one for tattoos as that is my "real" profession. As this is more of a hobby for me I haven't done much in the way of paperwork. An example or two from those who sell reptiles would be great.

You did everything right. You gave him a guarantee of 30 days. I might have missed something but the snake was in good health with Phong Ly and you.
.
In my opinion, it's the buyers fault the snake had issues. If he wanted a refund, he should have asked for it within the time frame and sent the boa back.
.
I'd tell him politely too kiss off, but without actually telling him that.
.
I understand your predicament though. You certainly don't want any bad feedback coming from him to hurt your rep.

Hey Dank, you did the right thing. My little girl I got from you is doing very well. She is eating well and is in blue phase right now. I would do business with you again in a second. My girl arrived healthy and very docile. This guy I guess doesn't know enough about keeping Bcc. I would have taken that little one off his hands.

He has no claim. You have no way to know what he did with the snake during that amount of time or what it was exposed to. Not your problem.
Buying a "pair" of siblings makes me vomit anyway. I won't sell "pairs" from one litter unless it's a pair of brothers or a pair of sisters...I don't care what they demand or ask for. Ain't gettin it here.

you can take the healthiest animal in the world, and kill it in a matter of days if you put it in the wrong care. I would tell the guy that I told him months ago, that I would guarantee it for 30 days, and then I would tell him, that the animal has been in his care for far longer then 30 days, and then i would tell him he is getting nothing

What I will probably end up doing is sending a partial refund. I am just trying to figure out what "I" would consider appropriate in this situation. I am not going to put myself in the position of getting taken advantage of but I am also not such a hard @** that I have to get negative with him. I will probably have it figured out by tomorrow and settle up so I can be done with this individual.

Everyone here knows the quality of animals you deal with. We also know that you are willing to do anything to help us out. This guy, however, is taking advantage of your good nature.... and it #$!#$!#$!#$!#$!#$!e$ me off.
As others have said, you don't know what this guy's care & husbandry was like...but you DO know the condition of the animal when it left you care.
I don't know what you sold them for... but if you feel honor-bound to give this dude something back, I wouldn't give him half. Maybe 1/4, and a discount on a future purchase.

I sold an emerald a few months ago. I raised her from a baby and had her for like 6 years....perfectly healthy emerald. The guy that bought her assured me that he knew what he was doing. His best friend was a well respected emerald breeder and he was helping him with his set up. I didn't wonder till later why he wasn't getting his emerald from his emerald breeder friend...but...anyway. A couple of months later he emailed me and said he wanted a refund because she never would eat for him and she died. Died? She had never missed a meal in her life! And even if she didn't eat even once, an adult emerald is NOT going to starve to death in 2 months. So I asked some more questions and was horrified at the answers. "We tried soaking treatments, fluid injections, antibiotics..." What? Why? He saw her open her mouth to yawn and called his vet. Vet said she has an RI so they did all that to "treat" her. He never would answer me as to what her cage temps were. Anyway, He and his vet killed her. I'm still pretty ticked off about the whole thing and there's no way he's getting a refund or another snake from me.
