Yay! My First Chameleon!!!
And FIRST THREAD in this subforum!! I just got him today!! He's an early b-day present from my in-laws! I decided to name him Montigue (MON-tee-goo) Mittenhands!! He's pretty awesome!! Surprisingly, he LIKES being handled!!! :scared: Almost all chameleons do NOT like being handled. It's very stressful for them. Stress = BAD!!! Alas, he climbs out of his cage and climbs right onto my hair and sits on top of my head!! He eats like a champ too! He's a Portoro 3 horned chameleon! They're related and basically similar to the jackson's chameleon. He has one broken horn but I'm sure it'll grow back, I think it makes him look #$!#$!#$!#$!#$!#$!! He's also just about finished shedding! It's funny because they peel off their own shedding with their mitten hands! He feels like super soft velvet too! People need to post more about chameleons!!

I always like them but I heared that they were dificult to keep and stressed easily. Scared me away from getting one because I like to handle my pets often.

Yeah, I actually got lucky. It's extremely RARE to get a chameleon that likes being handled. He seriously prefers to cling on to my head then stay in his reptarium, except when he wants to eat and drink. As odd as it sounds, he doesn't act peculiar when in his cage and during feedings.
