Spelling? [Stargazer, this is for you!]
I am writing up the tags for some really beautiful early Red Group Colombian Boas we are selling on consignment at the show [ill need to take pics, they are BEAUTIFUL]
So, whats the right spelling? Lots of things come up, and in a book, its written "Columbian" but, on a map, and wikipedia spells it "Colombia" which... would make it "Colombian", Right?
Input appreciated!
Thanks!

I corrected her on this (in a way). Of course, she'll deny it up and down. A snot nose college boy corrected the Stargazer? Yeah, it happened, once.
It was a good day!

But the book says Columbian?!?! so, you could say she was correct. You even get lots of responses if you google "columbia" I am so confused. I always did Colombian.

being bilingual and a champion speller i happen to know the answer to this question. the correct spelling is C-o-l-o-m-b-i-a-n. The second "o" is correctly pronounced "ohh" rather than a "u" sounding like "uhh"

Posted this on the "other" forum but here it is here too
Colombian because in Spanish the "u" is pronounced "oo" so that syllable with a "u" would be pronounced "loom". There is not a variation on this in the Spanish language the way that vowels have multiple pronounciations in English.
