Naw, I'd buy one now. As soon as I had the money I'd buy a house. It's pretty much all I've ever wanted, just a nice place to live that we can build on and fix up and customize and truly make our home in. I don't really think that anybody's ever going to rent to us with 34 snakes, 2 parrots, 5 chinchillas, 2 pygmy goats, a dwarf rabbit and the world's ugliest iguana, so buying a house is kind of our only option.

I hear you. With my dogs and cats and snakes I can never rent.

Are you able to pay for all their care on minimum wage? Consider that with a 250 grand house, you still pay real estate tax which amounts to about 2000 a year. Not much but there's food, electricity, gas, car and house maintenance, and so on.

Or do you already care for them on min wage?

I'd be happy with about 10G, stalk. I could get out of this condo!!!! If I had 250G, I would move to a warmer climate (maybe Austin, TX or Kenab, Utah), buy a townhome, travel, fly raze out to build me some custom enclosures for my babies, buy lots of clothes, and what was left over, invest it. I have no dependents.

Would you be able to live and do what you want off of 10-12 a hour, after spending money on what you want?

Bigred, her plan passes my criteria assuming she feels she can live off and be happy after spending all that money being on minimum wage. Having bought a townhome and built some cages, the rest is living your life and affording what you have.

Yep. I'd have money left over after the townhome. Taxes would be low enough that a minimum wage job would cover them. And did I mention that I would have a big RTC bash and fly everyone out for a housewarming party? (Except, of course, for Brandon who wouldn't come).

Even if I was a homeless person, I could be happy if I had a nice wardrobe to haul around in my shopping cart.
