I would say if you don't get at least an associates degree, things will be hard. It might be a good thing that you would have to stay another year in school to get that collage prep diploma. Remember that the current administration cut funding for college grants and cut back on government sponsered college loan programs with low interest rates. Maybe if there is a change next year, those programs will be funded again and available to you. I would not have been able to go to college without those type of loans.

By comfortable I mean when you turn the lights on they come on. When it is cold the heat comes on. When you get finnished in the bathroom there is toilet paper on the roll. It is a luxury to have pets (like snakes, horses etc...). If it were uncomfortable there would be none of them because you would be working to help support the family (not your hobbies).

I spent many a year living "uncomfortably" (both as a child and an adult). I never had an example of someone in my family who went to college therefore for me I couldn't understand it's importance. I couldn't control the living "discomforts" as a kid. But had I made some better choices perhaps I could have saved myself alot of "discomfort" as an adult.

As a teen I can remember saying almost verbatum the things you are saying. I wish I had listened.

That isn't to say that college is the "only" way to go but it is the closest thing to securing that "comfort" as you can get (besides a good lottery hit or something).

Again This is just my opinion....I can recall taking offense to similar opinions when I was your age. That is not what I am trying to elicit here. It is just that life can be harder than you think and there is no way to possibly know that until you have lived it (not watched it but lived it). I wish that i didn't have to live it...had I listened perhaps I wouldn't have had to.

I was very much like you at that age and really did not want to deal with going to school. I even had a whole plan (and a job lined up) to be an apprentice trainer at a barn. BUT I listened to my parents and we compromised, instead of going to a university I took some courses at the community college. I will not lie to you I hate school that said, I am now six months away from getting my BS in biology and I am so grateful for all of the people that made me stick with it. AND I still have my horse. That was something that I could not give up, I did have to make some other compromises in order to keep them but in the end it was totally worth it. I look at my friends around my age that did not go to school and they all have the same regrets about their limited education. So I would think long and hard about it, but the more education you have can never hurt you future.

i def think I'll at least get a Buisness Degree at Perimiter.

I know a barn that I can work at in atlanta and the pay starts at $40,000 a year. But if i ever want to do anything other than that i'll want at least a buisness degree
