there needs to be air moveing over the wings...more air then the prop can push in most cases....the plane would need to have the power to litterally hover like a helicopter and there are very few planes that can most being radio controled planes.

Think of it this way, if you were to get a parasaile (sp?) and run on a treadmill, it wouldn't work...you'd just look like an idiot. Same with the plane. The wheels aren't what makes the plane fly, its the wind and the angle in which the wings hit the air that makes the plane lift off the ground. Just my .02
