I have lived everywhere from Dunbar WV to Cleveland OH, to Gangland Southern CA (in the late 80's-early 90's "colors" era) and I can tell you that you can find just about anything you want, anywhere in the country. You just have to be strung out and it almost finds you.

Oh drugs you can get rather easy down here still (I guess). But from the local population you get inbred rednecks and general stupidity. Granted it's fun belittleing people and their too stupid to figure it out, but that gets old rather quickly. :closedeyes:

Meth is evil. I would agree that it is worse than crack, heroin, or anything else. I did it once when we got ripped off and were told it was coke. After my face caught fire from the first line we knew what had happened. We were dumb and did a little more.

I spent 3 days awake and had to force myself to eat(and I am a human garbage disposal normally) My friend went to the ER, he is a smaller guy than I am. I almost lost my mind for a month. It did something to my brain chemistry. I got really anxious and paranoid. I was smoking pot and eating zanax to stay normal. I failed 2 college classes because I was messed up.

I eventually got better, but I still get really anxious anymore if I drink too much coffee, as compared to before I did meth when there was no such thing as too much coffee.

I have a lot of experience with these sorts of things, and I never got "addicted" to anything but tobacco and alcohol(now I drink moderately on occasion) and I would say meth is death.

I do not know anyone on meth because if I find they are on meth I cut ties until they are clean for a while. I do not need my house robbed because that means I would have to shoot them and fill out paperwork and go to court.

If you are really close to them then you could try to help them. the decision to quit is a personal one. I do not believe in 12 step programs or NA/AA really. You just have to stop, and have the desire to stop.

If you do not know the person that well, just cut ties. When the drugs take hold they may come to you for things that you don't want to give them. But their addiction may take priority over your safety and security. You can turn your back on a person, but you can never turn your back on a drug.

Well... what has been said has been dead-on. Meth/Ice/Crank is bad stuff. It can make you feel wonderful, on top of the world and like you are the most creative person (art, fixing cars, whatever). In general, tweekers steal from each other and strangers, sleep with each other's b/fs-g/fs, have sex with strangers, think of ways to rip off their dealers/friends to get more, lie, lie, and lie. It can cause throat and nasal infections, as well as the fun thing of teeth falling out. It is one of the hardest drugs to quit. Anyways, I've been clean since 12/31/99, I quit cold turkey and cut ties with all of my old 'friends'. It can be done but it is not easy. Getting hooked on it is the easy part.
