I don't know about you...
...But I am pretty stoked for this...
.

.
I can tell by the numerous trailers I have seen that there are going to be some corny parts of the movie (like most comic to film flicks) and I'm not too keen on RDJ playing the role of Anthony "Tony" Stark. But the actual armor looks pretty good in reference to some of my newish Avenger comics. I've never really followed Iron Man until I started reading the newer series of Avengers. There's a lot of attention to detail in his suit that is often lost in Comics to Film movies. Prime example, Green Goblin in Spider-man. If there was ever a "worse" depiction of a character, it was him. In the actual comic, the mask and majority of the suit was skin tight. That's one thing that nerds like me look at when seeing these films, the attention to comic detail. Sadly, there's a lot of changing to make these movies more profitable and to reach a larger media audience. Which from a monetary standpoint is good, but it ticks fellow geeks like myself off who have followed the comics for years instead of chasing girls lol.......Guilty .
.
Well I wasn't going to go all nerd on this but I did. I failed and I am oh so proud.

Agree with you 100% Brandon! The soon to be stepson is dying to see this and I think we'll be heading there on Saturday! Don't care for the choice of actor either, but from what it looks like on the previews he pulls it off pretty good. I just wonder how much of the backstory they will go into. If I remember right from the childhood days (and last week.. ) that Stark ends up as an alcoholic mess for quit awhile and deal alot with that whole troubled hero syndrome. Looking forward to this and the new Batman one due out. The new Batman series starting with Batman Begins is excellent especially compared to the junk that came out after the first Tim Burton one.

Batman Begins was a great film. Don't care for the "Batmobile" but that's the geek in me crying out. Every comic to film movie I can critique. The car being the only part I didn't care for. But you're right. Great movie. I enjoyed the first Batman with Michael Keaton, but lost interest after. Even thought I still bought them all. I'm really looking forward to The Dark Knight. Ledger looks to do a great job as the Joker (R.I.P).
.
Scott, did you see the preview to "Hancock" with Will Smith? To me, it looks great. I'm a big Smith fan though.

No, haven't seen the "Hancock" preview yet, but if Smith is in it, I'll end up seeing it. And yeah, I pretty much see every comic movie to come out... I had said something to the fiancee about taking the boy to see this and she said, "who is Ironman?" which I launched into 20 minute explanation from Tony Stark to War Machine and the ensuing armor battles, thankfully I never followed Ironman quit as much as I did Spidey, or the Hulk, or X-factor, or the X-men, or the Avengers, or.... the list could just go on and on. But after my little speech she just shook her head and walked away....
My dying question is, now that the special affects are there....when they doing a DBZ live movie????

DBZ!! YES!! I know. I'll soil myself when that happens. I haven't heard anything yet. Some talk here and there, but this has been going on for years. I've done a lot of thinking about it, and I don't think it could be pulled of with "real" people though. With the advances in CGI though, I bet they could make it pretty cool. Though, DBZ is my #1...More than comics, more than Halo (believe it or not), even boas. So I would have extremely high expectations.
.
I mostly follow Spawn (Image comics), the Hulk, Punisher and Blade. And I'm not one of those people who grabbed hold of Blade when Wesley Snipes played him in 1998. I latched on to him in Tomb of Dracula #10. Which was printed about 10 years before I was born.
.
That's hilarious about explaining Iron Man to your fiancee. I can relate. I've preached my comic trivia to all my friends and family over the years. All of which have made fun of me. Well, the 2K+ books I own will give me the last laugh when I am running to the bank. Who's the dork now right?
Here's the trailer for "Hancock".
