LOL, it started as a political gasball!

I mean I am not 'happy' about gas prices quadrupling since I started driving, either. But we live in the greatest country in the world. We are very fortunate to be able to drive our Suburbans and Hummers on paved roads, with our Ipods mixing music, 4 15" subwoofers putting more bounce to the ounce.

Not only did we 'elect' Bush, we RE-elected him. Its not like he ran the country so well the first 4 years that we were TRICKED into re-electing him. He has always been a dumbass, yet we still chose him as our president. We think he is dumb, look at us, we made him president!

On a side note: Stop calling the US...America. America is the name given to the 2 continents North and South America. The 2 continents together is America. The United States of America is our country that exists within America. Many many people make this mistake. Sure we are American, but that is not our nationality. America is NOT a nation. Peruvians, Canadians, Mexicans, Ecuadorians, etc are all 'american,' too.

Yes I am a nit picker.

Wait...so if we're not supposed to call ourselves Americans, what are we? United Statians?

And if you honestly think that WE chose Dubya as our president twice...well, open your eyes, is all I can say.

I read it a while ago from yahoo news. To my understanding (which i may be wrong) is that we had a certain % of our oil from the middle east (not necessarily Iraq) Im an undereducated fool in that aspect lol. Just the impression I was under.

Its obvious people have their own points of view on this subject (as sensitive as it is) So hopefully no one gets to out of hand with all this. Lets write about what we all agree on in this subject? Maybe? Probably not lol.

I can definitly agree on Old "U.S." was way better than what we are now. I do believe in exporting and importing, but cut us some of the cost savings from all of this import/export stuff dont just pocket the profits for your own pocket book and fast cars (that eat a #$!#$!#$!#$! load of gas lol). Thats a true "U.S." way in my opinon, wait nvm.....Were Corp. America with nothing but capitalization in mind.... doh

I agree that everyone knows what you are talking about. But to me its a matter of being more specific. We are very used to calling ourselves americans, heck the rest of the world calls us americans, too. But IMO its only because United Statians sounds stupid! I wasn't even directing it at you, though. I was just throwing it out there to anyone who would listen.

I really don't know. Lately I have been saying "People from the United States."

My eyes are open. I am not saying that we are not a brainwashed people. I am not saying that there are people with power and money out there who determine the outcome of life as we know it. I am simply saying that we had 2 chances to pick someone less stupid than Bush. I am not saying things would be any better or worse. But people keep trashing Bush like he is the problem. IMO he is just a figurehead. We could have the most gifted politician in the world in office and we would still be bashing him for any problems in our country. The point is that (the collective) we, whether you actually voted for the man or not is not important, elected him as president. Now we blame him for everything. Yes, he is incredibly, and amazingly stupid. But it would be very shortsighted to blame him for all of our problems. We could take some responsibility for ourselves.

I meant the 'collective' we. I didn't vote for him. California didn't vote for him (I don't think.) I just meant we, as a collective group of US citizens. I just think we as a people need to take a bit more responsibility for our problems. That's all.

yes I agree with you manuel. The Old US was the 'true' US. Sadly countries no longer run things. As you said, corporations run things. They have the power and we give it to them.
