In maybe 60 years the documents will be released and highly edited. Till then only a select few really know exactly what happened. But I'll go with your theory for a minute. Washington D.C. is a highly protected zone. That is known. What waepons systems protect it is indeed classified and for a very good reason. If by chance a plane was known to be heading on a crash course to the Pentagon it would indeed be picked up and properly contacted to adjust it's course. If it failed then maybe some super secret missile system would be brought online and that plane targeted. And with the current missile system in place by the army on RSA it is a shoot it and forget it system that is highly accurate. But what would the American people think of us shooting down a plane filled with American civilians and a hand full of raging lunitic terrorists? It wouldn't make for good public relations at all. Plus there would be a bigger backlash in the civil courts from law suits by every ambulance chaser around. Did "Rummy" let something slip he wasn't suppose to?? Maybe.. Only when the documents are released will anyone know for sure (that is also depending on how much black out they use on them also). Chalk it up to "National Security" and a "Need to Know" basis. And trust me when I say this... There is a lot the American public is kept from knowing because the powers that be think they wouldn't understand or it would cause public fear. And it is all under the blanket term "National Security" that they can in fact keep this from ever being known. Fair? Maybe, maybe not.. Just the way it is and has been for decades.

Honestly do you think Obama will get the nod first off?

Second I hope if he does some nut job doesn't take a shot at him. That is just un-cool no matter how you look at it.

Third Bush would have to have congress vote to extend the limits of term and they won't do that. Their democrats after all and they have the majority now.

why dont you look at the pre roof collapse images at the pentagon and change your mind.
there is to much fishy stuff at the pentagon that doesnt add up, the 2 mile shock wave that was felt afterwords hmm last i checked planes didnt have shockwaves.

after all im sure the 50 plus cameras surrounding the building should have caught the plane on image just release one and end this whole conspiracy right

kinda hard to produce a image of something that never happened. the still standing fence the plane had to go through, was it a magic fence??

Hey at least he's good for a chuckle or two...

And give him credit for at least standing up for what he believes in in a strong unwavering manner. I kind of wish more people were like that in Washington. Being there a lot lately has really jaded me on the whole process of how things really get done there. Too many wishy-washy people up there who are afraid to take a stand. Plus it's mostly all about "What can you do for me" deals too...
