Exclamation CAUTION: horror nerd

I am a HUGE horror-movie nerd. We're talking epic proportions. I grew up on all the classics, Romero's Dead Trilogy, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween... It occurs to me as I write this that I can't write the name of my favorite movie on this forum, lol! But it's the one with Pinhead, and ends in "-raiser".

So there was a horror convention last weekend that I almost missed. Luckily my fiance, Joey, heard about it and took me! It was called Crypticon, and it was the most fun I've had in a loooong time, horror-nerd wise!

I met Sid Haig!!! I almost exploded, seriously. Sid Haig is in a ton of horror movies, most notably as Captain Spaulding in House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. He was super nice, and holy moly I never realized how small my hands were :confused1::

Then we met Bill Moseley! Chop Top in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and Otis B. Driftwood in House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects! TCM 2, although TERRIBLE, is for some reason my favorite sequel. Probably BECAUSE it's so terrible, I guess. Anyway, he talked to us for a long time:

Anyway, then we moved on to Bill Johnson, who was Leatherface in TCM 2. I wanted him to sign next to Bill Moseley on the TCM2 cover, but then it got awkward and he started hitting on me in front of Joey, who kind of got a little perturbed (understandably!):

We had a hard time catching Daeg Faerch because he kept scurrying off to play Guitar Hero. But we finally got a quick picture with him! (He was young Michael Meyers in Rob Zombie's Halloween remake!)

Then we met Ashley Laurence, who was Kirsty Cotton in that certain favorite movie that ends in "-raiser"! We talked for a really long time which was nice, and she let me take a picture with her:

Tony Todd was there, too! He's been in just about every horror movie ever (He was the Candyman, and he also played Ben in the Svini remake of Night of the Living Dead, and the creepy morgue guy in Final Destination), and he also had a reoccurring Klingon character on the Star Trek shows. Also, he's a giant, lol! I spent most of the rest of the day going on about how I met the Candyman:

We met the Smoking Man from the X-Files! Yay!

We met Roddy Piper! Omg, he was about the friendliest person I've ever met. I brought my copy of They Live! on DVD for him to sign (If you haven't seen it, seriously, it's worth it. Fantastic fight scene!) and I was completely unaware that it had been a small printing and not many people out there have this DVD, but Roddy was really excited to see it! He kept asking where we got it, totally stoked about it!

So we came home with a bunch of pictures and a whole stack of DVDs that we had autographed! It was awesome, I can't believe I almost missed it!!

Great times! I loved House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. I love B horror movies and I am a big fan of Rob Zombie...though I can't understand a word he says. He still rocks.
