I'll have internet lol. DSL though. No cable up there. The only TV service is "The Dish". Man...moving sucks. I've thrown away and given away tons of stuff and the more I get rid of, the more everything else just expands. I don't get it

What a beautiful place to be moving to. Hope all goes well with the move. Stuff always multiplies when you move and you finally conclude you have too much stuff but then its too late and you cant even give it away fast enough!! Your parents house is amazing.

Thanks. I love it up there. There's a peace there that has to be experienced. There is no possible way to imagine it. Living near the city most of my life, I never realized there were so many stars. Up there far away from the city lights, you can see them all. Fresh air, clean well water so clean you can taste the soap from the dishwasher if you don't rinse the glass well. A big lake with over 100 miles of shore line right out the front door practically (across the road and 100 yards through the woods...or a half mile walk down a 1 lane country dirt road. It's very noisy there but a different kind of noise. It's not people and traffic sound. It's all wind blowing through the trees and all sorts of wildlife sounds. My Mom has humming bird feeders up and there are so many humming birds congregating there...I'm not exaggerating at all...their wings buzzing sounds like you have your head stuck in a bee hive if you sit anywhere near one of them.
Seriously...if any of you guys want to take a weekend trip...come hang out. I warn you though, show up any time in the first year and you get to nail nails lol. No excuses about "forgot my hammer" I have plenty of hammers...and nails
I should have taken a photo from up the road of their whole place. There are 5 other buildings on the property that all match the house. A huge pavilion, a garage with upstairs storage, a tool shed and a storage building/pantry for canned goods and a deep freezer and a well house...all rock and wood with the same red tin roofs. I'm going to follow the theme I guess and put red tin on mine and later build a small barn for a couple of horses and red tin the roof on that too.

I'd help. I love doing that stuff.
.
My parents live away from the city too. There's nothing to compare it to.

Sorry...no roommates. for a long time, it's going to be a one bedroom I'm afraid. I'm going to finish the main floor first...master br, office, bath, kitchen and dining room. Then later a little at a time finish the upstairs 2 BR and another bath....but before I finish the upstairs I'll probably build my basement rooms and finish them first..gotta have my darkroom Right now all it is is a basement. They poured the walls today. Monday they pour the floor. Then...once all that sets, we can start framing. That means my currently not too sore body is going to be hurting long time.

Well I'm envious. That type of location is ideal for me.
