Yep....thanks for your reply to this boring post. Took pity on me, right?
OK OK - I know everyone is far too busy running about getting hurricane supplies to even see this post anyway..... yah right!
Jamaicans are getting ready to PARTY. That's what we do when a hurricane is coming. Actually, the truth is it's an excuse to seek each others' comforting company during the horror and the darkness. But nobody says that. Just me......

Hope everyone is okay and it's not too bad... I used to work as a claims specialist and dealt with so many people that lost thier homes in Katrina, Rita and Emily. It can be so devastating.

A friend of mine just evacuated New Orleans with her family.
I'm keeping them and everyone else down there in my thoughts.

Thanks all of you....my family & other animals were all OK but Jamaica lost 11 people to drowning in flood waters, lots of houses and roads and bridges were destroyed/washed away....quite disastrous!
I got a cold being soaked in the rain on Thursday night when it was really lashing us...went outside to check on the tarp around the iguana cage/bring them inside. Always a lot of moving around of pets when a storm is coming! Like for instance, rats all go in one cage, guinea pigs go in empty rat cage, iguanas go in empty guinea pig cage, and so on....lots of fun, then the cleaning out and re-setting afterwards. I do feel their appreciation, though.
So Gustav did a number on New Orleans! Good thing it was no Katrina! Anyone here directly affected by that one? What a huge evacuation!!!
So here come Hanna, Ike (I am suspicious of Ike) and Josephine...what a line-up.
Good to be back.

And Karina! But that ones going to Cali maybe.
Glad to see you and your babies are all okay! We all evacuated, but I went back home Sunday night/Monday morning when I saw we were not getting a direct hit. We didn't even get 1/4" of rain at my house, and only had a little bit of wind Tuesday.
I dunno about Ike though .... kinda makes me nervous!
