Moving on-Elizabeth's plans
Now that we're getting in the chemo groove again, we're trying to get our act together:
She only has to take the chemo every 5 weeks or so. We're going to register for home-school, and see if we can get her graduated ASAP. She already has one semester of 10th grade, so we have 2 1/2 years of material to cover. My brain already hurts.
Make-a-Wish has scheduled a party in her honor on December 3. It's supposed to be at the Durham Museum of Life & Science. They're going to present her with the 'wish-stuff' for her reptile room. Some of the vendors are supposed to be there, and we've been warned that there might be media coverage. Reptile Magazine is supposed to do an article on her, also!
She's getting two of these:
...and all the goodies that go with them. New water bowls, hides, etc, etc. The cages are already rigged with belly heat & light fixtures.
She's on pins & needles. She's got 12 snakes, and now she'll be able to have them all in one place! You can see her fingers twitch whenever I bring it up.
Her dad & I have built the counter-tops, closet, etc in her room, and we're putting down tile, carpet, & new paint this weekend. She's already plotting to turn half of the storage shelves into neonate racks. ( hmmmm...I have to get some flex-watt).
Annnnd... since they're refitting her leg, she'll be able to walk more, and wants to sign up for horseback riding lessons. Can you imagine ME on a horse after all these years? Ughh! The horse will take one look at my big ole' butt, lay down, & surrender.
Her 17th birthday is January 9th, so there's a good chance a pig-pickin' will be held that weekend. If any of you find yourselves down this way, let me know. Ya'll have an open invitation!
