Black Pine Snake

Now, these guys interest me to no end. Pine Snakes just have the neatest faces and being completely jet-black (Or really dark in colour) just fascinates me.

Does anyone have any experience with these snakes? Pictures?

They aren't mean at all. I have one named Mouse. Her tail is deformed. She has a normal body but a wee skinny little tail (hatch/birth defect). She's a total sweetheart and a complete garbage disposal. She's one of the 3 snakes I chose to keep in my slimmed collection. She's currently being kept for me at BWSmith's house till my house is finished. Then she will come home.



Originally, I had two of her brothers too. They too had deformed tails. There was an accident involving a bad thermostat on the incubator when they were in eggs. It went over 100 degrees for a little while and all of them came out with bad tails. I wasn't the breeder so I don't know exactly how that happened. They were nearly 3 feet when I got them. All sweethearts. All otherwise healthy...though one of the males did have a little prolapse problem and ended up having to have his musk glands amputated. Here's the 3 of them together.

I haven't seen her since September. She was maybe a little over 4 feet then? I'm not sure. Males tend to get bigger though if you are looking for size.

yah, my comment was a bit vague. The only few I've seen have been a bit nippy, but thats just what I've seen, and Ill admit, I havent dealt with much pits at all
