Snake addicts: Do you need a 12-step program?
By popular demand, this snake addict thread has been brought to this site. If it helps just one person I will be happy!
How do you know you are addicted to snakes?
Check to see if any of the following apply to you:
1. You tell yourself, "I can quit any time I want."
2. You say the same thing to your friends, and they laugh at you.
3. Your addiction interferes with your social life ("Sorry, I'd really love to go out with you but I have to stay home and mist my snakes.").
4. You have accidentally eaten a f/t rat for dinner while under the influence of the snake addiction.
5. You are glued to the RTC site and live for the 3 little letters: DUW
6. When a member has a clutch of snakes, your first message is "I want one."
7. Your addiction interferes with your job. Worse yet, it IS your job!
8. You go on early morning "benders", getting up at the crack of dawn and holding your snakes.
9. You are saving up for years for "the big one", even though you don't own a car or a house.
10. You have so many snakes, they are color coded in your snakeroom.
11. You cannot socialize without one or more snakes around your neck.
12. Your friends have tried to do an intervention.
If you found yourself nodding to 2 or more of these, then you may have a problem. Please report to your nearest Snake-a-holics Anonymous immediately before the problem grows out of control (say.....15 feet?).
