I have a 135 gallon and a 65 gallon. The big tank has Malawi cichlids and a big synadontis cat in it. The smaller tank just has a dwarf (clawed) frog in it.

I love blind cave fish. I have a conflict of interests tho. I have a 40gallon with 3 axolotls, some ghost cats, blind cave fish, albino danios and albino cory cats [sense a theme?] my axolotls love to eat my fish tho, so I think I might get something lame and live bearing like mollys for them to chow down on.

The 55 my cresteds are in used to be a fish tank. I've only done freshwater community tanks before, but the next one is going to be a 29 gallon saltwater tank for hermit crabs. Probably going to set up a planted 12 gallon for a trio of cherry barbs and some otos, too.

Do any of you have ponds? My dad wants me to set one up in his back yard and I don't really know where to start. It's gonna be really small - only about 75 to 100 gallons. He just wants two or three fancy goldfish.

Ponds and fish

There are a lot of resources on the web. Monster Fish Keepers has a lot of stuff on ponds. They are not too bad, I want to build one, but I need a house and land first! 75-100 gallon is too small. You want to build a bigger one, the more water the more stable it is. There are lot of details about building ponds, too much to type here. I would recommend getting a book on it, I did, lots of good info there. I would also recommend using liner rather than the plastic jobber. they can actually be more difficult to get to sit level, and liner just kind of goes in, and you can do a lot more with it in terms of decorations.

And in response to the 1st post, I also own fish. I used to have a lot, but my Oscar took care of that "problem" for me. He is mean, but cool. He lives in his own 75 gallon, which he destroys every week.
