lost almost half of the collection
Just found 11 of my snakes dead.... thinking heating problems.....something isn't right.....more that look like they might be dying soon, slow moving, limp, striking in the slow mode...kinda wildly if it wasn't so slower than normal.
I can't even begin to think straight...
so far dead
1 ATB
3 Ultramel Cornsnakes
1 Normal Cornsnake
1 Banded cornsnake
1 Creamsicle Cornsnake
1 ribbon snake
1 Milksnake
1 Leucistic Texas Rat
1 Blood Python (aside from my first RTB, my favorite snake....)
bad shape:
1 female banded cornsnake
1 snow corn
1 grey ratsnake
the ball, russian ratsnake, large cornsnake, female creamsicle, rough scale sand boa and 3 saharan sand boas seem to have come out fine. Then the 5 boas and the hognose that I have in the other room were fine...
Sucks so bad......
I don't know what to even say.
I had posted this on another site and brought it here too.... what do I look for in the three others who are hanging on...the grey rat was just laying gasping but he is moving and is almost normal except kinda bitey. the snow is back to normal, he went into his water dish and stayed in there except for his head on the side. The neo banded corn is still struggling but seems to be improving...what do I need to watch for in them and others who have been exposed to high temps?
I still can't believe the blood is dead...poor girl has a rub on her nose. I found her propped up in the corner of the tank...she tried so hard to get out. :( I hate even thinking about it.

Oh man..that sucks. Anything new? New supply of feeders? New supply of substrate? Has the house recently been sprayed for bugs? It seems to have mostly hit snakes that don't use much heat. What were the cage temps? How were those cages heated?

I am very sorry to hear about your loss! I sure hope you are able to discover what exactly caused this. If you have any insight or caution to share as a result, I would certainly like to hear it. No one wants to have this type of thing occur.
I sure hope you are able to save the rest of your animals!
