keep us updated dank, karma had a RI when i rescued her, cause she had 0 heat before, simply giving her heat and a higher heat cured her RI pretty fast.

She sounds a little better today. Still heavy breathing and "stickiness" in the mouth. Still considering the vet trip.

I wouldn't take a chance on waiting. I'd make an apt. But then again, I'm really paranoid.

Get a saliva culture done, it sounds exactly like what Precious was doing, and if it is what she had it is zoonotic and easily past to a new host.

Haven't heard any more of the "caughing". She still looks alert. Spending alot of time on the heat (she appartently knows what she needs). Still some excess saliva issues but none of what seemed to be fierce breathing troubles. The vet at University of Penn said not to be too quick to administer meds as they can cause as many issues as the RI at times. I am told what to watch for and to bring her in if there seems to be a progression of the disease.

That is fine you don't need to receive medicine to find out what you are dealing with. I would still get a saliva culture done to know what diseases it has, and if they are moderate or abundant. After the culture test they can give you a list of drugs the diseases are weak against and you can decide the best action. When my reptiles are sick I always like to know what they have, even if I disagree with the treatment.

Boas tend to get over RI pretty well on their own with just a little bumped heat and quiet time when caught early. As long as improvement continues then it's very likely that it will just go away. Sounds like that's the road this one is on.

Looking pretty good. I have just never had to deal with this in Boa. I have in "larger" boids. She seems to be getting better so my fingers are crossed that we don't run into any snaggs.

Just an update. She seems to be almost clear of any signs of breathing issues at this point. The battle was tough but it looks like she will pull thru ok. Thanks for the adivce and support in this thread. I will try to get some pix of her up soon
