how to get rid of mites

go to walmart in the camping section. find repel permanone, it is in a yellow can with a blue lid. it is like 4.00 a bottle.
change your mulch substrate and put the new substrate in the cage. take the snake and water bowl out of the cage and take the snake totally out of the room. spray the new substrate till it fogs. cover the cage totally and let it sit like that for an hour (leave everything else in the cage also). uncover the cage totally and let it air out for an hour. put the snake and water bowl back in the cage. it will kill any mites on the snake. in case of eggs do this again in 2 weeks.

anytime you get new mulch put some in a sterilite container and spray it, then add more and spray again. keep doing this till the whole bag is sprayed. then cover it and let it sit for hours. then uncover it and let it air out. that way anytime your snake goes potty you have treated mulch to put in after you clean the area. i spray anything new that ever goes in the cage and let it air out.

the can make look like this now

make sure it dont have deet in it

RE: how to get rid of mites

As an extra precaution: when I take the snake out of the room to fog the cage, I put the snake in a tub and spray the crap out of him with Reptile Relief. You will see a ton of dead mites in the tub when you are finished. Here's what it looks like:
