AP cages
I want an AP cage. Im looking into getting either the T10 or t12. As I understand you can kind of customize them. What is the best heating and lighting option? I've never had one of these so I wanted to ask the people who have!
Thanks!

lights are optional.
as for heating I will have to say that heat panels are probably the best. but in actuality all that is important is that you meet the needs of your animal. which you seem to be doing and more.
we'll let someone else chime in

Many people like the belly heat option that they provide. I like it, but I can get better temps with a heat panel (from my experience). Dank and Trendy use the belly heat and can get better basking temps than I can.
.
The lights are pretty much for you. I don't do anything extra for lighting other than the ambient light that comes from the window. They have a few different lighting options if you choose to go with that. They are kinda cool though, one of them fits snug in the upper corner of the cage.

I feel like since those cages are closed on three sides it'd be really dark in there....

Then go with one of the lighting options.

I provide lights and belly heat for mine. Lights are entirely optional, but I like to have my pets on display for my personal enjoyment. Natasha and Judas' lights are 48" fluorescents which privides absolutely no heat. Maynard's tank is smaller and has a 75w basking bulb on the same side as his UTH.
