AP Cages ?

Okay...I know there are several threads floating around right now about the AP cages. After talking, comparing prices, emailing the owners and such, I think I've made up my mind to go with AP. They have had great customer service with me, and I look forward to doing further business with them.

Anyway...My question. I now have two Colombian Red Tail boa's. I plan on also getting a pair of Argentines. I'm limited on space, so I need to try to get one size enclosures so that I can stack them safely. After measuring I can get roughly 4 enclosures stacked from floor to ceiling, which will minimize space for me.

What size would everyone recommend for me? I had been looking at the T10 model. Would this be long enough/high enough?

And...if I get these cages, how soon would I be able to put my new Boa's in? Right now all my babies are in 10 gallon tanks, which is perfect for them, but I know from having a Colombian before that they grow pretty quickly. My other female out grew her tank within 6 months...I don't want to have to keep buying a bunch of make-do tanks that they're going to grow out of...Right now I have 11 ten gallon tanks that every snake is going to out grow.

Also, I know a few of you have Carpet Pythons, would the T10 work for them as well, or do I need something with more height? Right now I have the little ones in ten gallons and the yearling's in Exo-terra tanks.

Any kind of help I would really appreciate. I just see myself getting head deep in ten gallons and I know that eventually, even though I can use them again later, I'm going to have a LOT of tanks that are just in the way...

Thanks in advance!!

The 4 footers will work for all but the largest of females. The six footers will be better for very large (8 ft or longer) females. Almost all males will do fine in the four footers for life.

What kind of carpet pythons do you have? I have two Jungle Carpet Pythons, and they are waaaaaay to arboreal for a T10. I got an A20 with RHPs for them and they love it!!

Yeah, I have 2 Jungles, a Diamond, 2 Bredli's, and 2 Jag sibs as of now. My Jungles and the Siblings are really the only ones that use their perches.

The RHPs?

I actually did look at the A20. I had talked to someone before and they told me that getting something arboreal for a Morelia was a bit of "un-needed" space... I thought they would need space? At least a nice perch area for them to bask on. My Diamond always gets up as high as he can go right after a meal.

So if I go with the T10's, I may want to get a couple of the 8footers for the females?

Also, would the T10 work for a Dumerils boa as well?

I'm not sure about Diamonds or other Carpets, but I would get arboreal cages for the Jungles. I used silicon to put shower rods in an A20 and it worked out real well. Check it: Before and After

They use the shower rods like crazy!!

RHPs = Radiant Heat Panels. UTHs don't work very well for arboreal cages, but RHPs work great.

Yeah, I actually was looking at your thread just a minute ago.... haha..

I really like how you have the whole thing set up!

I actually wasted $50 IMO on a UTH a while back. I cannot get it to regulate on the heat. Its either too hot, or too cold.. So now its stuck under my 75 gallon and I NEVER use it! I had purchased it for my female Woma. Winter finally came around and I purchased a room heater, which I will add that I love!... haha

Off subject, but its my thread...haha Where did you get your Jungles?

I got my female JCP from the EBV (which means she was pretty much a rescue, lol). She was a baby and turned out way more yellow than I expected.

My male came from some guy in Kentucky. The snake showed with mites and I'm still a little angry about that. But, he has successfully gotten rid of the mites and is incredibly yellow. (pm me if you want the breeders name)

You could get by just fine with the 4 footers.
