There is always someone who will say. . . . "I have done it for X amount of time and things are fine". The point is, getting away with it doesn't mean you always will. Just thought I would post an example here.

Thanks for this I have been talking back and forth with someone on "Idiottube" aka youtube, about housing 4 sub adult and adult boas together his first response was I don't have the money to get a new cage?? Why you would get more animals if you can't house the ones you have is beyond me. Even though I am struggling right now I have family to help out with my pets. But if I didn't I would find them good homes.

Dank I am going to go ahead and say the problem is the keeper. I know monitor keepers who keep snakes together, how ever they are in very large cages and are watched for any signs of dominance, just like with monitors. The problems arise when the reptiles are kept too close and have to compete for the same hide, basking spot, food etc....
Monitors are far worse than snakes, yet some keepers keep pairs or trios together very well. Some install a devider as a fail safe should a fight break out. So before you condemn everyone who keeps reptiles together I suggest we really keep it case specific.
I will say the majority of snake keepers should not house snakes together because, many aim for minimum caging and get all their knowledge from care sheets online.

I dont think he's necessarily condemning anyone who keeps snakes together. I think the point is that it is always going to be safer to keep them seperate. Under perfect housing conditions there are still a number of additional problems that can arise.
The only time I reccomend housing boas together is for breeding purposes as it is somewhat difficult to produce babies with them seperated .
