i think sliding doors are a cool concept but i like to make swinging doors that are able to be fully opened and can have multiple locks or latch bolts.
however if you want to make sliding doors then you need to find heavy duty tracks. i would contact lowes or home depoe ect and find out where you can get the strongest tracks from.
once you get the tracks and install them you measure from the bottem track to the top track and add 3/8ths of a inch and thats your size you need for the glass.
then you glass needs to over lap a inch and a half minimum for locks and saftey.

I am a swing door fan myself. I like to have the ability to open both at the same time to get out some of those "hard to remove" animals....lol....just my preference.

I like our swing door ones. The 4 section cage dustin just built had drop down doors... very nice. Having access to the whole cage and it makes it super easy to clean

i will have access to both sides of the doors if the tracks for the glass are double sided so the glass can be moved from both sides.

Sliding doors suck. Substrate gets in the tracks. I like front opening swing down doors for many reasons. I wouldn't keep venomous in anything else.
