ok ok i c what your getting at and please dont consider the only reason i keep snakes is for the wrong reason, that is very offensive to me. i do not keep snakes for wrong reasons. all i want to do is spoil my snake ok. i decided since many of you guys think that a cage of my size i have is to small, i decided to upgrade her to a bigger enclosure to last her her life. thanks for the advice everyone, and please pythonguy do not critize how and why i keep snakes.

I too believe UTH is unnatural. It stays a constant temperature unlike a rock that has been laid on for a while. I only use over head heating with shelves to absorb the heat much like rocks and branches in the wild. I have to build tall cages to offer all the gradients and options I have read about in the animals native range.
I could never use my set ups in rack style cages and because of that my female retic is currently getting an 8'L x 4'W x 5'+T
Here is a recent picture (it is far from finished):

well do any of you guys know an enclosure i can build and then take appart because the reason i was saving space is because i didnt know we were going to move into the top floor apartment complex and to garry down an enclosure that big is way to much of a hazzle and i wouldnt even be able to get it threw the door at that. i planed on using a radient heat panel from pro products and a misting system from them i just dont know much about the misting system, would this work or what?i also plan on using lighting day and night through florescent fixtures.

My advice would be to read this post and check out Ben Aller bolting together a huge display cage. Hopefully it will help, the only commercial large cages I know of that come apart are by cages by design.
Overpriced cages,I may get some.
