I only use UTH. I would go with the largest size they have and have it attatched to at least a rheostat (preferably a thermostat). bear in mind that UTH's are best for raising basking temps NOT ambients. I keep the room my snakes are in at about 78° - 80° so I don't have to raise the ambients much. If your snake room is cooler than that you may think about different heating alternatives.

During the winter I use a small space heater in my snake room to keep the ambient temps up. I don't brumate my snakes but I do give them a day/night cycle so ensuring ambient temps stay safe is critical. UTHs as Dank said, will only raise cage temps but so much over ambient, 20-30degrees depending on the size/wattage.

You've already mentioned the most critical part regardless of what brand you get, and that is THERMOSTAT. Spend your money there.
