cage cleaning
this is open to anyone, but in paticular to thos who use paper in their cages. What do you use to clean your cages? Obviously paper has to be changed much more often and the cage needs to be cleaned up. For example Hannya just peed andthere was the normal urate as well as a puddle that covered about half the cage. I was scheduled to clean her cage anyway so its getting the bleach and all that but is there anything faster and safer as to eliminate the hours of dry time adn cleaning?

At a pet supply shop here in Raleigh I found a solution that is safe for all reptiles/herps/etc. I used it to clean the tanks I got out and planning on using it for cleaning it when I change out the substrate as well.
Most pet shops will have something like that, even PetSmart.

So you go thru whole cleaning process everytime you change out the paper?
How often do you change your paper?

I used to clean the "heck" out of my cages. I was told that wasnt such a good thing.
Never let your snake live in feces, but dont follow it around with bleach and towels in hand. Thats my way.
I usually soap and water clean a cage if its really messy. If its not too messy I just change the paper. I guess its just a judgement call...not a specific routine.

heres the thing... Im just switching over to paper... for ease of cleaning, normally I used aspen. I only complaint with aspen is its a pain in the bootay to clean up as it gets all over the place when going in/out of the cage and I figured paper would be alot faster. The thing Im noticing with paer tho is Hannya peed and it left a puddle lol. Maybe i just need to put more paer down (add thickness)
