Name: Molly
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Size: 10'
Type/Morph: Wild type (Normal)
Origin: Captive bred
Other details: A big, young adult female, it took a lot of muscle to work with her, you never realize just how heavy and strong a snake like this is untill you get right in there, LOL. She was tame but like most Burmese pythons would hiss constantly when she was handled. She would eat absolutely anything put in front of her, rabbits, rats etc. Very strong feeding response, which is typical for this species--a really long hook was essential when removing her from the cage.

My baby! Meet Sucuri...

"Sucuri"
4 moths old, about 4 feet...
my new baby. I have always wanted a Burmese! They are just amazingly beautiful and huge docile creatures. I just had to wait for the right time to get one. I love her to death so far. She is better with handling everyday. Usually if you get a newborn they are prone to snaching away and hissing loudly until you hold them for a second..then they stop and do great, till next time u pick them up! After a week of handling, this response is gone. If you get a bigger one, make sure its been handled regularly...as with any LARGE Boid, you have to make sure they are docile BEFORE the get big enough to do serious damage!
And these are the EASIEST snakes when it comes to feeding! They will eat ANYTHING< ANYTIME! Very fun. They are built that way. Not a Boa AT ALL! but beautiful in they're own way. I tend to only like the "Natural" coloration of a burmese. Its just so awesome, I dont know why anyone would want to change them! I am not one for morphs anyway. I love the "wild" look. and how God made them, is the most beautiful to me.
Just my opinion though. All the boids are beautiful in there own way and all need equal love and care. But yeah, I highly recommend the Burmese. but to a moderate to advanced keeper, just because of the space it will take up and the handeling of a possible 150lb animal! One of the Best snake keeping experiences though. Talk to any keeper that has had a Burm, and you will only here how special the animal was to them.

Other details: she was a rescue i got in November of 2007, at roughly 5feet and at most 10lbs, she was very emaciated. she had a respiratory infection along with some scale rot, was being kept in a little 30g cage with no heat, no sub straight, no water, and her cage was dirty and covered in feces. her first shed was thicker then leather, her first night she spent drinking the water bowl dry almost so dehydrated, the RI went away after about a week with proper environment (no heat to having heat) and the scale rot was completly gone after about 3 sheds. she is now a perfect healthy animal pushing 8ft and 30lbs and a appetite like no other.
when i was growing up my mothers boyfriend had a 15 foot normal female and i was so amazed by her. snakes in general are such a fascinating and beautiful animals.
