YOu know, my old neighbor owned one and he had no problems with it. Not sure on the exact temps but he just kept him in a comfortable room temp with a heat stripe. They are soakers though. I don't think I ever saw that snake out of the water dish too often.

Gieat snakes. They have keeled scales and triangular heads (hence the name Viper Boa)!

The reds are awesome
Ok, so first of all Viper Boas are found on forest floors all over New Guinea and are exposed to fairly constant air temperatures. They dont bask in the sun and so it is not as important to provide them with a dedicated hot spot. Instead, having a fairly constant air temperature of 85-90 is optimal. They get lots of rain in their native habitats so humidity levels of 80-90% are a good idea. Misting 2 to 3 times a day should be good.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! Viper Boas have a very slow metabolism compared to a lot of other snakes. Over feeding of juveniles is often the case of their early death!

I've only seen one pic of them....very cool too. I wonder if they would be a good starting point for FLVenom to cross over.

Yup. Looks like about $100 for juvenile assuming I read correctly. Don't misunderstand, I just looked up a few places that DO sell them; I'm not publically endorsing any of them....please don't think they were recomendations; I was just giving you some starting points.
