I don't know many people who kiss their reptiles on the actual lips, but that little tongue flick to your mouth is probably enough to pass on the disease, do you think? I was just thinking in terms of putting your lips anywhere on them.

The tongue may pass the disease, how ever it is such a small surface area that unless it goes in your mouth I doubt there will be enough bacteria to survive and enter your body.
The important thing is precaution and hygiene. Always wash your hands and try not to expose your mouth to a reptile. This is even more serious when dealing with the nasty mouths of monitors. The bacteria alone can kill you, not to mention the small amounts of venom.
Every one just be safe. I want us all to enjoy our reptiles with out risking personal injury or fatality.
