well thank you all for the kind words, too bad you live in flordia i'd let you play with my camera and chondros for a dinner with you .

and for the cannon user i was seriously looking into getting a cannon DSLR but the bodys seemed a bit smaller than the nikons and i like the way the D80 felt in my hands so i went with that. i really need a telephoto lens but i'm still a bit short of 1500 bucks i need for the one i want again thank you all for the kind words and once i upload some more pics i'll post them

I liked the XTI. Don't think there's any real difference between Nikon and Canon.. it's all about the lens anyway!

LOL a dinner huh? Well I'm down! As long as you're paying, that is . Man I'm not very big but I can pack some food... yesssiiirr!

As far as Canon and Nikon go, they're both very respectable, just really depends on how the ergonomics of each feel to you. I personally prefer Nikon because in my experience they just feel more solid and less plasticky than a lot of comparable Canon's. At any rate, both take awesome pictures! BUT... you also need to know how to use those big SLR's, nothin like packin all the equipment and not knowing how to use it! Haha.

Yeah no disagreement there. The D40 and D80 feel much better than the Canon XTI series.

However Canon lens are compatible with everything. You need a huge chart for Nikon lens. So it depends person to person.

REally nice macro shots. I have the Canon XTI and love it and would love to add a great macro lens to my stuff but need studio lights more right now as I am making my money taking portraits. I really want a set of alien B's.
