Ouch...
Persephone got me pretty good today before a feed. It was my fault really, I did a pretty nice SFE. Thumped and frozen a dozen rats and just quickly washed my hands, definately had rat scent on me.
Anyway she got a full constriction on my thumb and arm, dug in right in the joint of my thumb, and proceeded to twist her head to a 90 degree angle... very very painful. My joint is still inflamed and bruised hours later.
I was alone, and this is the first 'feeding' bite ive received, others they just let go right away. So it took me a good 5 minutes of pain to get her off lol.

Im just sort of worried I may have damaged her mouth, I wasnt sure how to handle it so I gently pulled her bottom jaw off then pulled her head back a bit and then lifted up on it. Only had one free hand, and she just kept latching back on if I didnt hold her jaw steady.
Is there a better way to handle the situation? When she gets 5-6 feet or more Id like to approach it a little better then prying her jaws of death off with one hand.

Nice wound. Congrats.
They say you can use a bit of rum or whiskey - pour it where the snake is biting and he will let go at once. Save some for drinking afterwards.
