Kobi's Halloween Debut!
So Kobi came out tonight to help me pass out halloween candy and she was a HIT! Curtis and I sat on the front porch and he handed out candy and I held Kobi. About 90% of the kids petted her and asked questions about her, it was so awesome! The other 10% walked up to her but didn't want to touch. My neighbor's kids all held her and took pictures with her, and even started talking about wanting to get one! Granted they are too young, but it was still so exciting. Some of the trick-or-treaters also said to their parents that they wanted to get one, and SOME of the parents said "Maybe when you're older"...OMG!!! So awesome! It felt to me like a HUGE step-forward. So many of them told me that they had never touched a snake before, and then petted her and said "She's soft!!! Look at her tongue! That's so cool!" Even some of the parents petted her. One lady asked me if she was slimy or dry, and I told her that she could pet her and she did! Then she said "Wow, that's neat feeling...so soft!" OMG, I can't tell you how ecstatic I was tonight  I know I'm just rambling, but it was so exciting I just had to share
.
BTW, anyone who thinks "that wasn't a good idea" I held the sharp end for all the kiddos Kobi is the absolute most laid back sweetheart. She's the best.

Thats awsome sarah...but I fail to understand why there are no pics?
Nice job on changing some peoples thoughts about snakes, and giving them good ideas about them though!

Sarah that is pretty cool.....it's always nice if you can get people to see the up-side of snakes. It's so frustrating that people have these negative impressions about snakes, that was passed down by so many people before them.
I think there should be a 60minutes show about people owning snakes. Obviously to show the positive sides not the negative.....
I have a neighbor that works for the local news program here, and I think this has encouraged me to go talk to her about doing an interview. There could be some repercussions from it, but with a little clarity first it should be not only an important message to share with people, but educational as well.
Good job Sarah, it's nice to see people doing there part to help......

Oh well, YAY FOR KOBI! She must be famous in the neighbourhood now.
