On the move (help?)
So I think I have the most active Ball Python ever. I mean the little guy is all over the place day and night. He's so entertaining to just sit and watch, so I thought I'd video tape it so you guys can watch him too!
The problem is...
All Im seeing is the "click the image to open in full size" and thats annoying to me. How can I get it to come up with the video ready to view?

Here is what another member posted on BP care and activity...

For ball pythons, my basic set up is NO LIGHT, lots of hides including fake plants between so they don't have to venture across open space to get to water or thermoregulate. Heat pad on one side and I try to keep it so there's at least some place in the cage where the temps are mid 70s to no more than 80. From there, as long as there is plenty of space, it doesn't really matter how high the hot spot is as long as their is a gradient and the hot spot doesn't affect the cool spot. It's just a matter of how much of the cage you want your snake to utilize because unless it's a gravid female, they don't spend much time in high temps.
Ball pythons are ridiculously lazy animals. If you have one that's overly active especially during daytime hours, that's not cool. It's on the move because it's miserable in your setup and NEEDS to get out...usually overheating when this happens. On the other hand, if it's too comfortable 24/7, they become hide potatoes. Sitting in one spot all the time makes for bad sheds, bowel problems and loss of muscle mass. Night drops in temp makes them move around to thermoregulate which helps move their bowels, gives them exercise and they are less likely to sit still and let a shed start without them moving ...drying up and sticking. A good night temp for ball pythons is 72ish.
I've heard the whistles but so far it's always been shed related with Ball Pythons. The skin inside the nostrils sheds too...down till it hit's mucous membrane somewhere between a 1/4 and 1/2 inch deep down the nostrils. It's not unusual for the nostril skin to break off when they start nose rubbing to start a shed. and this loose little tube of skin down their nostrils causes quite a ruckus when it dries up in there. No telling how many poor ball pythons get jacked up on painful antibiotic treatments over someone misdiagnosing retained nostril skin for an RI.

This was from a thread I created about Kobi having a stuck nostril shed & it sounding like RI. I just remembered what he said about their daytime activity level & thought I'd share Its some good info, IMO.
