Do you think you are going to find out what was the actual cause of death? When a necropsy is done, what do they look for? Is it done from the basis of a suspected cause, or just a general "peek-a-boo" inspection like thing?
My bunny Fluff, a large Australian Grey, was six years old too when last year, she just got very lethargic, eventually stopped breathing and just died. No apparent cause.

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about Fluff. :(
I'm hoping they can figure out what happened with this necropsy, our vet is really really knowledgeable with exotics, and to date, although we've only ever had to have three necropsies performed, they've nailed down a cause of death every time. The one time they had trouble, they sent tissue samples away for a histopathy, so I'm pretty confident we'll know what happened.
But it is pretty much a peek-and-look kind of thing, so we'll see how it goes. They were supposed to call this morning, and they haven't yet, which does kind of make me nervous.

I'm so sorry sweetheart! That story brought tears to my eyes. At least you know you spoiled, and loved him as much as humanly possible.
Ps. I think every one should dress their bunnies up. That's pretty awesome.
