Are there any other vets you could call? $400 seems REALLY expensive for a necropsy. The most I've ever paid is $200, and that included a full histopathy. If there are any good colleges with zoology departments nearby, you could try calling and seeing if any of the professors are qualified or willing to perform the necropsy.

thnx everyone. and thnx dustin. I cannot pay for the necropsy. and my parents cant help me out cus of other expenses. I called the herpetology courses in both universities and colleges here, and both couldnt do it for some reason. I donated her body to my high school biology department so they can research her. They might be able to tell me what happened too, but they dont usually specialize in snakes. That is the only vet in town that deals with snakes.

Owen, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how much you loved that girl. I'm sure you did everything that you could, and I hope the necropsy answers your questions. That picture is priceless, and shows what a sweet girl she was.

well...i guess ill meet up with her sometime...and i guess with the ammount of animals I have, i gotta bet that sooner or later something will die. Best i can hope for, is that she has the best afterlife that a boa could possibly want.
